Trevor Corson Biography

Trevor Corson spent two years studying philosophy and history in China, three years living with Buddhist monks in temples in Japan, and two years working as a full-time commercial lobster fisherman on an island off the Maine coast on his journey to becoming a writer and educator. Trevor teaches at the New School and Brooklyn Friends School in New York City, where he has written about food, health, religion, global affairs, and a range of other issues for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe, and the Atlantic Monthly. During his time as managing editor of Transition, a literary magazine published by Harvard University professors Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and K. Anthony Appiah at the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research, the magazine won three Alternative Press Awards for International Reporting and was nominated for a National Magazine Award in General Excellence.
