Ford attended Clare College, a university in Cambridge, to study English literature. In the movies How to Deal (with Mandy Moore), Deeply (with Kirsten Dunst) and Gosford Park Slap Her, he played a leading role. Alongside Scarlett Johansson, he also made an appearance in the Calvin Klein Eternity Moment perfume commercial.
He played the internationally renowned musician Benjamin Chow, who was Kat Warbler's (Lizzy Caplan's character) lover, in numerous episodes of the CBS sitcom The Class.
