Trai Byers was born in Kansas City KS into a military household. He earned an associate's degree in theatre from the evangelical two-year Andrew College before spending a year at the historically black Prairie View A&M University. Byers subsequently proceeded to the University of Kansas and received his Bachelor's in Communications.
His acting master's degree was finally earned at Yale School of Drama. Caesar and Otto's Summer Camp Massacre and Selma Americons star Trai Byers.
