Calendly, a lovely and straightforward scheduling tool used by up to 30 million people globally and growing at a 100% rate annually, was founded by Tope Awotona. Following college, Tope held a few different corporate positions (including one at IBM), but he was a man on a purpose and soon understood it would be impossible to advance via the ranks.
He then accepted a position as an account executive at Perceptive Software, a growing business in Kansas City, where he sold to more than 50 schools and institutions across all disciplines. Tope came to understand that successful businesses don't necessarily go in a straight line.
