My father and uncle started taking me to the blind while I was still in diapers when I was a youngster. I grew up in Northwest Illinois.
Despite the fact that my grandpa belonged to two duck clubs in the renowned Illinois River Bottoms, my interests also grew to include a liking for shooting geese in the state's ponds and agricultural fields. I went to Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, for college.
