My father and uncle started taking me to the blind while I was still in diapers when I was a youngster. I grew up in Northwest Illinois. Despite the fact that my grandpa belonged to two duck clubs in the renowned Illinois River Bottoms, my interests also grew to include a liking for shooting geese in the state's ponds and agricultural fields. I went to Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, for college. Since there are many outdoor activities in the neighborhood, it was only natural that I felt at home. I oversee the several farms that makeup Habitat Flats from April through October, and the remaining months of the year are spent sharing my passion for waterfowl hunting with visitors from all over the world. The delight I have every fall when thousands of migratory ducks descend is the consequence of seeing the rewards of our efforts during the off-season.
