In 2014, Tony Luciani decided to start taking pictures to commemorate his mother's battle with dementia. With this four-year-long photographic project, Luciani, who has worked as a full-time painter for more than 40 years, attracted attention from all around the world. With distinction, Luciani received his diploma from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto in 1977.
Luciani seeks to situate his work within an interpretative realism tradition that is distinguished by careful observation. He enjoys positioning his photography as a clear progression of the art that he currently does.
