Tommy Chong is a comedian, actor, writer, director, and supporter of marijuana legalization. He is well-known for the Cheech & Chong comedies with a marijuana theme. Chong, who was born in Canada in 1938, gained notoriety in the 1970s as a member of the comedy team Cheech & Chong alongside Cheech Marin.
The pair transitioned to acting in 1978 and appeared in several comedies involving marijuana, such as Up in Smoke (1978), Cheech & Chong's Next Movie (1980), and Still Smokin' (1983).
