Tomá Hertl is a Czech professional ice hockey forward presently playing for the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks. The Sharks picked Hertl 17th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. After the collapse of Czechoslovakia, he is the first player born in the contemporary Czech Republic to play in an NHL game.
Prior to being drafted, Hertl was a member of the Czech Extraliga's HC Slavia Praha.
