Charles Thomas McMillen is a former NBA player, Rhodes Scholar, and Democratic member of Congress. He had the largest recruiting score early in Coach Lefty Driesell's time at the University of Maryland, beating out rival Coach Dean Smith of the University of North Carolina.
In 1970, he was the top high school basketball player in the United States coming out of Mansfield, Pennsylvania. The 1972 U.S. Olympic Basketball Team, which fell to the Soviet Union in a contentious gold medal game, had McMillen as a player. He served in the 4th District of Maryland in the U.S.
