Tom Black established his own business, Private Business, in 1990. His team and business partners grew this into a $290 million firm with roughly 900 workers. They went public and sold half to an equity investor in 1998. Black purchased IMagic and Bancsource while continuing to serve on the board.
He served as the CEO of both, which employed roughly 30 people altogether. In 2001, they sold it to OSI. OSI increased its revenue to more than $800 million, went public, and then returned to being private. OSI no longer has Black as a member.
