About Tom Arnold

Tom Arnold Biography

American actor and comedian Tom Arnold. He has acted in a number of movies, such as The Stupids (1996), Animal Factory (2000), Cradle 2 the Grave (2003), Mr. 3000 (2004), Happy Endings (2005), The Great Buck Howard (2008), and Madea's Witness Protection (2011). For four years, he served as the host of The Best Damn Sports Show Period. Arnold performed a comedic act focused on props called "Tom Arnold and the Goldfish Review" in the early 1980s. He was hired by Roseanne Barr to write for her television comedy, Roseanne. After she filed for divorce from her first husband, he married her in 1990. Arnold created the character "Arnie Thomas" for the program by himself (a play on his name). Due to the couple's occasionally extreme conduct, the marriage received media attention, particularly from tabloids. Arnold had his own comedy, The Jackie Thomas Show, in 1992. The show, which aired on ABC after Roseanne, ran for 18 episodes. Arnold and Barr launched 'Roseanne and Tom's Big Food Diner' nearby in 1993 after jointly purchasing a property in Arnold's birthplace of Eldon, Iowa. The restaurant offered loose-meat sandwiches, which were a staple of Roseanne's fictitious Lanford Lunch Box, which was based on Ottumwa's actual Canteen Lunch in the Alley. Both were included in the Ottumwa-filmed 1993 film The Woman Who Loved Elvis. In 1994, Arnold and Barr got divorced because of their incompatibilities. In 1995, their restaurant closed. Arnold spoke and appeared in multiple Craftmatic Adjustable Bed advertisements that aired throughout 1995 following his divorce from Barr. In the last scene of the ad he filmed, Arnold was laying in a bed that caught fire while it was being recorded, melting a strand of his underarm hair in the process; the video was never published. "Me and Mike (Michael Jackson) (he was one of my greatest friends) used to giggle about how having a Pepsi commercial of my own," Arnold said on Twitter in 2014. In the Baywatch Hawaii episode "The Cage" from the second season, Arnold portrayed Al Raymond in November 2000. In the James Cameron motion picture True Lies from 1994, Arnold Schwarzenegger's character's sidekick was played by Arnold. Arnold sued Network Ten and "A-List Entertainment" in June 2017 for robbing him of his right to appear on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! According to Arnold, he was promised a $425,000 settlement and an Australian comedy tour. He lacked $140,000 in compensation, so Network Ten canceled the comedy tour. The Hunt for the Trump Tapes, Arnold's Viceland program, debuted in 2018 to average ratings and was canceled after one season.
