Thomas (Tod) Hynes is an MIT Entrepreneurship Lecturer at the Martin Trust Center. He teaches Energy Businesses, a graduate-level course that leads groups of students from business, engineering, science, and policy through the process of launching new energy ventures.
Hynes is a co-founder of the MIT Clean Energy Prize and serves as the chair of the judging panel, which awards over $500,000 in prizes. He also works with and advises energy-related startups and existing businesses. Hynes served as Citizens Energy's director of alternative energy for five years, during which time he launched the company's wind development division.
