One of the creators of the software Snapask, which allows high school students to connect and speak with a tutor about their lectures and take pictures of their assignments, is Timothy Yu. About 26000 students use the program, and Snapask, which was backed with $1.8 million by angel investors, receives a portion of the cost they pay.
Since its 2015 introduction in Hong Kong, Snapask has expanded to Taiwan and Singapore. Yu started a comparable e-learning business a year before receiving his degree from The University of Hong Kong in 2012. Chiang hasn't even received his degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology yet; he is scheduled to do so this year.
