On September 25, 1954, Sir Tim Smit KBE was born in Holland. At Durham University, he studied anthropology and archaeology. Tim spent fifteen years working as a composer and producer in both rock and opera. Tim is the Executive Vice-Chair and Co-Founder of the prestigious Eden Project in Cornwall, which is located close to St Austell.
More than 19 million people have visited Eden since it first opened its doors to the public in 2000. What was once a barren hole has been transformed into a cradle of life with top-notch horticulture and astounding architecture that is a symbol of human achievement. Eden began as a dream in 1995.
