Tim Nixon serves as the business unit of General Motors Company called Global Connected Customer Experience chief technology officer. In October 2012, he received the position's designation. In his position, Nixon oversees the development of new technology platforms and services, like the 4G LTE OnStar platform, that supports connected products for GM vehicles internationally.
He oversees the creation of ecosystems for linked apps for vehicles. In his previous position, he oversaw GM's six regional engineering centers as the global functional leader of infotainment and OnStar Engineering. He was in charge of all vehicle cockpit electrical products, including Cadillac CUE, Chevrolet MyLink, and Buick/GMC/Opel IntelliLink radios, instrument clusters, switches, displays, acoustics, and embedded OnStar connectivity.
