He began his career as a Disney animator, and many of his films have a highly stylized setting that seems like a cartoon. Bill and Jean Burton welcomed their first son, Timothy William Burton, into the world. Burton characterized his younger self as eccentric, self-absorbed, and very creative.
He struggled at home and in school, and he used horror movies to escape from the hardships of daily life. He had an obsession with Vincent Price movies, especially those that were adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe stories.
