Tig was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and reared by her single mother in Pass Christian, Mississippi (affectionately known as Tig by her brother as a youngster).
In order to reduce cooking and cleaning duties and give her mother more time to paint donkeys on the exterior of their house, she would feed the kids all three meals at once and water of their diapered bodies in highchairs on hot summer days.
