Belgian professional golfer Thomas Pieters competes on the European Tour right now. He was a student at the University of Illinois in 2010, where he won the individual 2011 Jack Nicklaus Invitational, the individual 2012 NCAA Division I Championship, and the individual 2013 Big Ten Conference Championship in his second year.
The following year, his team placed second at the 2013 NCAA Division I Championship, and he finished first individually. Pieters made the decision to leave his final year at the University of Illinois and enter the workforce in the summer of 2013.
