Both a novelist and critic, Thomas Mallon. In Glen Cove, New York, he was born. He received a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. from Harvard after attending Brown University as an undergraduate. He got a Rockefeller Fellowship in 1987 and the Ingram Merrill Foundation Award in 1994. From 1979 through 1991, Mallon was an English teacher at Vassar College.

Author Mallon is the Henry and Clara Two Moons author. Dewey's triumphs against Truman Along with four works of nonfiction, Aurora 7 Bandbox Fellow Travelers, and most recently Watergate, were also released. Recently, Watergate received a PEN/Faulkner fiction prize nomination. He was the former literary editor of GQ and for eleven years published the Doubting Thomas column.
