The seventh president of St. Norbert College, the only university in the world established by the Norbertine order of priests, is the novelist, journalist, and educator Thomas Kunkel. Before moving to St.
Norbert, Kunkel spent eight years as the dean of the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism, where he also held positions as editor and director of the Project on the State of the American Newspaper, president of the American Journalism Review, and dean of the American Journalism Review.
