He is most recognized for his work on American Pie, Rookie of the Year, and A Kid in King Arthur's Court (1999). He was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Karen Nicholas and Tim Scarne, an actor. In the American movie LA DJ, Tim Scarne and Thomas Ian Nicholas co-starred (2004).
He played Kevin Myers, a character from all three American Pie movies, and Frank Sinatra Jr. in the Showtime film Stealing Sinatra. Nicholas, the son of Marla Nicholas, an acting school administrator, and professional dancer, was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. Six of Nicholas' siblings are also DJs, including his older brother Tim Scarne.
