Thomas Dooley is a former American soccer defender and defensive midfielder who was a long-time member and captain of the US national team. Dooley is now the Philippines' national team's head coach.
Dooley was identified as US Soccer and began looking abroad for players eligible to play for the national team ahead of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, when he gained US citizenship in 1992 and made his first international debut against Ireland on May 30.
