Chef and proprietor of Café des Artistes in Puerto Vallarta, Thierry Blouet The paradise on the Pacific coast of Mexico was, as they say, born for commerce. Max Blouet, his paternal grandpa, served as general manager of Paris' opulent George V for 30 years. Chef Blouet was raised in France and Mexico, countries where haute cuisine is a key component of the good life, by French parents. He was born in Puerto Rico in 1964. Blouet's twenty-year culinary career culminated with the most prestigious chef award in February 2000. He is one of just 340 French chefs who have been accepted into the exclusive Maîtres Cuisiniers de France group, the greatest distinction in the field of cuisine. A keen sense of art and beauty, as well as his own instinctive aptitude, are both reflected in his cooking. A chef with a keen eye for design, his meals are sensuous masterpieces. He then received a promotion to Chef de Partie at the exclusive Le Fouquet's de Paris while staying at the Camino Real in Mexico City.
