Thelma Wells' life has been a brave journey of faith from her moments of singing in a dark closet to the foundation of a nationwide women's mentoring ministry. Her birth certificate merely listed her name as Baby Girl Morris.
Since her own cruel mother ordered that she take the child and leave the family, Thelma's mother was a horribly disfigured adolescent without a spouse and nowhere to go. In order to support her infant daughter while working as a maid in the large mansion, the baby's unmarried teenage mother obtained housing in the servants' quarters.
