American metalcore band The Word Alive hails from Phoenix, Arizona. The band was founded in 2008 and has a deal with Fearless Records. Their 2009 label debut Empire, which received a lot of excellent reviews upon release, peaked at No. 15 on the Top Heatseekers.
The trio finished recording their first full-length album the following year, Deceiver, which was released on August 31, 2010 and peaked at No. 97 on the Billboard 200 and No. 15 on Independent Albums.
