Distinctive for its abundance of loudness, accordion, and James Graham's strong Scottish accent In late 2003, the Glasgow, Scotland-based band the Twilight Sad was formed by Graham (vocals), Andy MacFarlane (guitar accordion), Craig Orzel (bass), and Mark Devine (drums).
They holed up in the studio to compose new music after performing a couple of gigs in Glasgow that comprised lengthy pieces of music performed on a variety of instruments. With four brand-new songs in hand, they delivered a demo to Fat Cat in September 2005.
