The Three Doctors, also known as Drs. Sampson Davis, Rameck Hunt, and George Jenkins are remarkable role models for anybody who has faced a big adversity or life crisis. These three kin made a deal when they were little boys growing up in Newark, New Jersey's rough inner-city neighborhoods: they would remain together, go to college, graduate, and become physicians.
This was a challenging effort given the lack of strong role models and the bad influences in my environment. Years later, these three men have triumphed over many challenges and proudly wear the title of doctor, representing health and education for children and families across our nation.
