A weird and fortunate meeting occurred amid northern Ohio's undulating plains twenty-two years ago. d Helms A shared appreciation for great whisky and bluegrass brought together Ian Riggs and Jacob Tilove while they were still Oberlin College students. Soon, music started to occur.
A distinct musical voice emerged due to the melodic yelling of the three musicians, Riggs on bass, Helms on guitar, and Tilove on mandolin. A loosely-knit group named Weedkiller was soon formed when more pals joined in on various banjos and fiddles.
