Most Honorable Australia's Linda Jean Burney is a member of parliament. She serves as the Minister for the State Plan and Community Services while serving as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for the Canterbury Electorate in Sydney.
She also serves as the Coordinating Minister for the Department of Human Services, the umbrella organization for the ministries of juvenile justice, Aboriginal affairs, and community services for the housing, aged, and disabled. She served as the Australian Labor Party's National President from 2008 to 2009. In 2003, Burney was chosen to represent Canterbury as an ALP member.
