Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner founded the Eagles in 1971. They worked with producer Glyn Johns to record their first LP, Eagles (1972). The tracks Take It Easy, Peaceful Easy Feeling, and Witchy Woman would become recognized for the country-rock sound that Johns had steered them towards.
Their first number-one song, Best of My Love, was from their third album, On the Border (1974). Over the following six years, a string of number-one singles would follow that tune.
