Americana group The Devil Makes Three hails from Santa Cruz, California. The trio combines bluegrass, ragtime, jazz, old-time country, folk, and rockabilly music. Guitarist and tenor banjo player Cooper McBean, upright bassist Lucia Turino, and guitarist Pete Bernhard make up the quartet. The group has four full-length albums to their credit.
In 2002, they self-released an album of the same name. 2004 saw the release of another indie album, Longjohns Boots And A Belt. In addition, the band, with guest violinist Chojo Jacques, taped two performances in April 2006 in Felton, California. A Little Bit Faster And A Little Bit Worse, a live album, was eventually published from the tapes.
