The 1975 are an English pop-rock band that formed in Wilmslow, Cheshire, in 2002. Matthew Healy, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel make up the band, which is now headquartered in Manchester. The band's beginnings may be traced back to their time at Wilmslow High School and playing together as adolescents.
Gigs arranged by a council worker led to the band signing with Dirty Hit and Polydor Records.
