When Teresa Scanlan was chosen as Miss America 2011, she became the youngest woman to hold the title in more than 70 years and the first Miss Nebraska ever to win. Teresa, a Nebraska native from Gering, is Mark and Janie Scanlan's little daughter.
Teresa, the middle child of seven, self-taught herself through her first year of high school and then graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 2010, one year early. Her most lofty professional goals are to become President or a Supreme Court Justice. She wants to become a judge and eventually get involved in politics.
