Ted Galen Carpenter is a senior researcher for security and global policy at the Cato Institute. From 1986 to 1995, Dr. Craftsman served as Cato's executive of international strategy concentrates, and from 1995 to 2011, he served as vice president for guard and global system concentrates. He is the author of nine books on global issues, including The Fire Next Door: Mexico's Drug Violence and the Danger to America, and the proofreader of ten more. He frequently appears on radio and television shows in the United States, Latin America, Europe, East Asia, and other regions.
