Taylar, a three-game letter winner in secondary school, received All-State honors in the shot put and disc (2003). Her athletic scholarship to the University of South Florida was saved thanks to her accomplishments, and she continued to perform above expectations in Olympic-style sports.
As a result, she departed as one of USF's most notable competitors of all time, holding, at the very least, a central four spot five different times. She concluded her career with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), ranking her thirteenth and various All-Conference and All-Regional accolades (Big East and Conference USA).
