Rose has been working hard to prepare for the Taryn Rose brand's pre-fall 2011 debut. The designs will adhere to her high standards of comfort in structure, pattern, and technology with a wealthy and fashionable flair, creating a bridge between the traditional and the modern. Better department shops and niche retailers will carry certain styles.
After ten years of development, Dr. Rose sold her business in 2008 and took some time off. She took some time off to spend quality time with her family, tour the world, attend speaking engagements, and consider fresh company concepts. In June 2010, Dr.
Rose rejoined her eponymous company as a principal under the Schottenstein Luxury Group, feeling revitalized and motivated. She also formed alliances to design for high-end specialty store Neiman Marcus and the enduringly successful Home Shopping Network (HSN).
In May 2010, Taryn Rose, M.D.'s High Heel Power for HSN, unveiled its inaugural collection, which quickly sold out among customers all over the nation. The Taryn Rose brand is based on the same fundamental comfort and aesthetic concepts as High Heel Power, which includes footwear, purses, legwear, and foot healthcare. Based on Dr.
Rose's experience in health, healing, and philanthropy, High Heel Power seeks to enchant women with entertaining trends, innovative designs, comfort, and affordability. Taryn Rose unveiled Haute Future by Taryn Rose in August 2010, a line of shoes for ladies who like fashion and their feet. Rock and roll style with a cheeky girlie touch is featured in Haute Future.
Rose employs leopard patterns, supple, glittering materials, fitted bows, and sparkling crystals to pique a woman's sole. Each design, which includes ballerinas, sexy mid heels, concealed platforms, booties, and boots, has a brand-new gel footbed developed by Rose that replicates the padding of a woman's foot to offer more comfort.
Rose participates in various social and charitable activities in New York and Los Angeles when she isn't making shoes. She frequently participates in various national speaking events, most notably serving as the keynote speaker at the Century City Chamber of Commerce Women's Business Council's annual luncheon honoring women who have achieved great things.
She presided as a judge for the Miss Universe competition in Nha Trang, Vietnam, in 2008 and most recently served as a judge for the Miss America competition in Las Vegas in 2011.
Taryn Rose has been honored for a plethora of achievements in addition to receiving her medical degree from the University of California School of Medicine in Los Angeles: The Women's Leadership Exchange organization gave Taryn the Compass Award in 2006 in recognition of her efforts to transform the way that women are viewed as corporate leaders.
She placed #1 in a brand-new, prestigious competition for entrepreneurs called 25 Women Entrepreneurs Who Are Changing the Game, according to Women's Presidents Organization and Fast Company (2005).
She was named one of the most influential women in New York City by New York Moves magazine in 2005; she was hailed as an outstanding role model and businesswoman in the city of Los Angeles during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in 2003; she was honored by the Women's Venture Fund as an outstanding entrepreneur at the Highest Leaf Awards in New York in 2003; and the Small Business Administration named her one of four outstanding women entrepreneurs honored during the 50th Small Business Administration Awards in 2003.
She was chosen for the prestigious panel of female entrepreneurs at the Women's Entrepreneurial Conference with Martha Stewart in 2007. She has since been a featured panelist at events, including Pink Magazine's Fall Empowerment Series (2009) and the Women Entrepreneurs Rock The World conference (2010). Since First Lady Laura Bush is a fan of Dr. Rose's work, Dr.
Rose and her shoes were displayed at the Smithsonian museum in 2007,, and Dr. Rose was allowed to meet Mrs. Bush there. Oprah, CNN, Today Show, New York Times, People magazine, Entrepreneur, In Style, Elle, Lucky, O magazine, British Vogue, Town & Country, and many other media outlets have all written on Rose.
Rose regularly participates in initiatives to support organizations close to her heart, including the Lynne Cohen Foundation, Step Up Women's Network, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, AIDS Project Los Angeles, Children's Hospital New York, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Clothes Off Our Back.
