Tansu iller, a dubious lawmaker and founder of the True Path Party, served as Turkey's president from 1993 to 1996, a period of spectacular political turmoil and financial crisis. She began her career teaching financial concepts before transitioning towards legislative concerns in 1990. For Turkey, the 1980s were a politically turbulent decade.
After the military overthrew the government on September 12, 1980, all political activity was frozen, rallies were disbanded, and government personnel was barred from the legislation. When governmental concerns were reinstated in 1983, only fresh and pure people were authorized to form parties. The entrance was opened to a different generation of government leaders, Turgut Ozal being the most well-known.
