Tan Yinglan Biography

Tan Yinglan, a member of the Indian group and a Venture Partner located in Singapore, began working for Sequoia Capital in 2012. He established the Singapore office and oversaw investments for the company. Before joining Sequoia Capital, Tan Yinglan served as the Head (Projects) of the Prime Minister's Office of the National Research Foundation (Singapore), where he was a member of the Singapore Administrative Service. He oversaw the National Framework for Innovation and Enterprise, where he controlled stakes in high-development businesses and venture capital. Tan Yinglan most recently served as the primary Director of 3i VentureLab China, a collaboration between INSEAD and the private investment company 3i (LSE: III). He also held the position of Senior Assistant Director at the Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore), where he oversaw the portfolio of investments for the Economic Development Board. As a Milton and Cynthia Friedman Fellow, Yinglan also served as the Special Assistant to the Chief Economic Advisor at the World Bank. In addition, he had established a web-based dating firm and raised holy messenger subsidizing while attending graduate school at Stanford (which is as yet included as a contextual investigation at Stanford). Yinglan also works for INSEAD, where he developed and instructed an optional MBA course. Yinglan has also taught entrepreneurial finance and management courses at Singapore Management University and for the Advanced Management Program. She is an adjunct Assistant professor at Nanyang Technological University.
