Tan Kheng Hua graduated with a Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude degree from Indiana University. The first stage play she acted in was John Bowen's The Waiting Room coordinated by her cousin Ivan Heng. It took nearly 10 years before Tan turned into a full-time actress.
While in college in the US, Kheng looked into acting when she took an elective of theatre, Acting 101. Subsequent to getting back to Singapore, Kheng took up an occupation in public issues and acted in her extra time.
