Canadian musician, songwriter, and on-screen persona Tamia Marilyn Hill. Tamia, who was up in Windsor, Ontario, had indifferent singing and dancing talents as a little child. However, after signing a management contract with Warner Bros. Records, she was requested by legendary producer Quincy Jones to appear on his album Q's Jook Joint in 1994. Their collaborative work on the songs You Put a Move on My Heart, and Slow Jams earned her Grammy Award nominations. Her 1998 self-titled presentation collection was followed by a string of successful releases with Elektra Records, including A Nu Day, and the possibilities are endless from there. Some of the songs from these compilations, such as So Into You, Stranger in My House, and Imagination, as well as her collaborative efforts Into You Missing You and Spend My Life with You, became big singles on the mainstream and R&B record charts. Since leaving Elektra, Tamia has collaborated with Def Jam, eOne Music, and other companies to release most of her projects under her label, Plus One Music Group. Her sixth album, Love Life, debuted in 2015 and peaked at number two on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, becoming her highest-charting album overall.
