Sylvain White was born in Paris, France, to a French airline steward and an American professional baseball player. He attended the University of La Sorbonne to study law and received a scholarship to Pomona College in Los Angeles.
Following his Pomona College graduation, a string of critically acclaimed short films inspired him to organize significant music recordings and commercials around the US, Europe, and Japan. Stomp the Yard, White's 2007 presentation highlight film, debuted at the top of the American charts.
