Sylvain White was born in Paris, France, to a French airline steward and an American professional baseball player. He attended the University of La Sorbonne to study law and received a scholarship to Pomona College in Los Angeles. Following his Pomona College graduation, a string of critically acclaimed short films inspired him to organize significant music recordings and commercials around the US, Europe, and Japan. Stomp the Yard, White's 2007 presentation highlight film, debuted at the top of the American charts. He oversaw the production of The Losers action spoof in 2010, which starred Chris Evans, Idris Elba, and Zoe Saldana. He led the August 2018 release of the graphic horror film Slender Man.
