Sydney Jensen is a ninth-grade English teacher at Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska, the heart of America's heartland. Lincoln is one of the top cities in the country for refugee resettlement, and Lincoln High students speak more than 30 languages. Jensen also works as an instructional coach, assisting novice and seasoned teachers with instructional assistance and mentoring.
Jensen has been named the 2019 Nebraska Teacher of the Year in honor of her achievements in the classroom and in the school community. She is a strong supporter of enhanced mental and emotional wellbeing services for both children and the instructors who serve them.
