Swamy Kotagiri Biography

In January 2013, Swamy Kotagiri was appointed executive vice president for corporate development, research, and advancement at Magna International. In this role, Kotagiri oversees all corporate-level development and new-item enhancement activities for the corporation and those about Magna's operational units. Kotagiri has more than 20 years of expertise in the field and most recently worked in various design initiative roles at Cosma International, a Magna operating unit. While serving as Executive Vice President of the global building and R&D commencing in 2008 and Vice President of R&D before that, he was responsible for advancement method improvement and the dispatch and execution of innovations in Cosma's manufacturing divisions. He worked as an auxiliary architect at General Motors before joining Cosma. Kotagiri holds a master's degree in mechanical construction with a focus on materials and fundamental design from Oklahoma State University. Surprisingly, he has more than 12 automobile parts and procedures licenses and belongs to the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Engineering Society of Detroit.
