Although she was unaware of it at the time, Suzanne Alexander's career in radio and television began in high school when she discovered Madonna while the rest of her friends were listening to Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, and Crystal Gayle. I tuned in to the famed WHN out of New York City playing Clint Reba and Randy in my first car because it only had an AM radio, and that's when I got caught, according to Suzanne. She decided to study TV and radio at SUNY Cortland throughout her lengthy secondary school years in Long Island, New York. I completed my first radio job at the school station, hosting a Sunday morning nation radio show where I played my collection of country music. After working at her school's radio station, Suzanne became so interested in business radio that soon after graduating, she looked for and was hired by a small AM station in Cortland that broadcasted throughout the country and played light AC. Suzanne admits, "I learned to be a circle racer there." From then on, all I needed to do was work at a giant station.
