Editor-in-Chief of National Geographic Magazine and Editorial Director of National Geographic Partners is Susan Goldberg. She is responsible for all adventure distribution, including electronic newscasting, periodicals, books, kids, families, travel, and experience. In April 2014, she was appointed Editor in Chief of the publication before being designated Editorial Director in October 2015.
She is the magazine's eighth manager since it began being published in October 1888. Under Goldberg's leadership, National Geographic won three National Magazine Awards, was a nominee for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting and received the George Polk Award for Magazine Reporting. She received the Exceptional Woman in Publishing Award in 2015.
