Five of the twelve works Susan Cheever has written are books. Her autobiographical works include My Name is Bill, the life story of Bill Wilson, a fellow donor of Alcoholics Anonymous; Home Before Dark a historical diary of her father John Cheever, and Found in a Bottle is a record of her own alcoholism and recovery.
The subject of her most recent work, Desire, is sexual servitude. Cheever has written articles for many publications, such as The New Yorker and The New York Times, taught at Yale and The New School, and is currently a professor in the M.F.A. program at Bennington College.
