Sung Kang Biography

Kang was born to South Korean laborers in Gainesville, Georgia. He portrayed Han, a reticent posse member, in Better Luck Tomorrow, which was his first important acting role. He portrayed Sam Kim and was one of the stars of The Motel. In the Fast and the Furious movie series, he played the role of Han and appeared in Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast and the Furious, Fast Five, and Fast and the Furious 6. Additionally, he starred as an FBI agent in the Jet Li movie War and as Doran, a Genghis Khan kid, in the movie Forbidden Warrior. In the Korean drama parody Tae Do, Sung has taken on the role of the egotistical President Gin Kew Yun Chun Yew Nee on MADtv (Attitudes and Feelings Both Desirable and Sometimes Secretive). Additionally, Kang played a minor role in the action movie Live Free or Die Hard. In Walter Hill's 2013 movie Bullet to the Head, Kang played Detective Taylor Kwon opposite Sylvester Stallone. Kang appears in the Lie music video by the Korean group g.o.d.
