Steve Rushin was born on September 22, 1966, in Elmhurst, Illinois, and reared in Bloomington, Minnesota. Rushin joined the staff of Sports Illustrated after graduating from Bloomington Kennedy High School in 1984 and Marquette University in 1988. He produces editorials and features for the publication as a Special Contributor.
