After working as a DJ for a few years in the 1970s, Steve launched his first conveyance sandwich shop in a long time until his landlord warned him that the cops were going to shut down the illegal enterprise. He then relocated the operation to his mother's storm cellar, where his private performance became inextricably famous. Martorano's sandwiches were so popular in South Philly that he outgrew his space and launched a take out cafe in a strip retail complex. Martorano prepared pizza, sandwiches, pasta dishes, and personalized water ice here. After a few years, interest waned in his neighborhood, and Martorano relocated to a separate semi-formal cafe."
