It didn't start that way; he joined Microsoft in 1997 as a specialist pre-deals associate talking tech to large corporations and quickly realized he could translate nerd into something non-nerds could understand. That carried him all around the world, speaking with large and small groups on the allure of technology. And then he discovered blogging....and set up Geek in Disguise a blog to chronicle the story of Microsoft from where he sat. After a few thousand postings and a few of grants, Steve was invited to bring his narration to Redmond, Washington, and take on the position of Chief Storyteller.
